The Soul of Lower Prices are various pieces based on the development in Scandinavian grocery shops the last 25 years: from a multitude of independent shops to a small handful of dominating chains. The development and transformation from individuality to similarity is mainly driven by a strong belief in lower prices. Maybe it is not the cheapness in itself that is important but the projected image of cheapness as opposed to the art business where exclusiveness is the alfa omega.
In the presence of grocery chains all over many of us have developed a fine-tuned sensory for the cheap and the steep: the body reacts different to 8,90 or 12,50. It is like different moods. The Soul of Lower Prices attempts to reformulate those moods and to remix the communication of grocery chains into fresh artworks. What hits us so hard that we can’t stand on our feet? The exhibition illustrates moments of revelation in cheapness.

SPRING EXHIBITION, Fotogalleriet 14. mai - 14. juni

I will paticipate with 2 works (one old and one new) in the annual Spring Exhibition at Fotogalleriet in Oslo. The other participants areYamile Calderon, Ingrid Eggen, Marius Ektvedt, Elna Hagemann, Marianne Hurum, Christina Leithe Hansen,Roghie Asgari Torvund
The Spring Exhibition was established in 1986 and is based on a open call for projects. The final selection is made by the jury of Fotogalleriet and Forbundet Frie Fotografer.

As part of the Nordic Design exhibition at Total Museum Of Contemporary Art Anna daniell and me will show 3 sculptures and 3 photography´s in the basement of the museum. The exhibition will be opened by Mr. Didrik Tønseth, the Norwegian Ambassador. Art Director is Amie Ann.

MOVING TO SEOUL FOR 3 MONTHS RESIDENCY
The place is called National Art Studio Changdong. It is a 3 months residency under the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea. I share a studio with Anna Daniell. I will stay here until 17.mai 2009.
